GET Lab’s PhD student Maria Christofi participated at the Researchers Night 2016 that took place at Filoxenia Center in Nicosia at 30th of September 2016.
The Researchers Night is part of the European Researchers’ Night that takes place every year all over Europe and neighbouring countries the last Friday of September. The events are supported by the European Commission as part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, which is an EU programme to boost European research careers.
As part of the Researchers Night, there was a Social Computing Playground where the general public (and especially children) were able to interact and experience novel social technologies.
GET Lab demonstrated the Virtual Reality headset Oculus Rift and kids were able to be immersed in virtual worlds. The Social Computing Playground was organized by the Social Computing Research Center (http://socialcomputing.eu/) of the Cyprus University of Technology under the NOTRE (http://notre.socialcomputing.eu/) project that GET Lab participates.
