Our coordinator, Despina Michael-Grigoriou, was promoted to Full Professor as of 1 April 2026, marking a significant milestone for both her academic career and GET Lab. This well-deserved achievement reflects years of dedication, sustained effort, and commitment to research excellence, as well as her contribution to the growth and success of our lab.
As part of the promotion process, Despina Michael-Grigoriou delivered a public lecture on 6 February 2026, entitled “Holistic Virtual Reality in Addressing Human Needs: What, How and Across.” The lecture showcased recent research conducted at GET Lab under her supervision, highlighting the scientific excellence and impact of the lab’s contributions to Virtual Reality research and its applications in addressing real-world human needs.
The evaluation committee assessed her academic and research work with exceptionally positive comments, recognizing the outstanding quality, significant impact, and remarkable breadth and depth of her contributions. The audience actively engaged during the public Q&A session, demonstrating great enthusiasm and strong interest in the research presented.
