We are proud to celebrate the international recognition of the research work of our PhD student, Ali Najm, who designed and developed a Modular Adjustable Wearable Haptic Device for XR Applications, , named ‘HaptiSense’, as part of his research conducted at GET Lab.
The work was published in the MDPI Virtual Worlds journal (CiteScore: 7.6) in October 2024, in Volume 3, Issue 4, and has since attracted significant interest from the scientific community.
Its impact and visibility have been recognised through a series of important distinctions. The publication was featured on the front page of Virtual Worlds from January to March 2025, bringing prominent visibility to the research. More recently, in August 2026, it received further recognition by being selected by MDPI as an Editor’s Choice article.
We are delighted to see Ali’s work, conducted under the supervision of our coordinator Despina Michael-Grigoriou and guidance of our research associate Domna Banakou, receiving such recognition and gaining visibility within the international research community. These distinctions highlight the quality, innovation, and impact of the research carried out at GET Lab, and reinforce our commitment to advancing haptic technologies and Extended Reality (XR).
Congratulations to Ali and the research team on this achievement!
