H2020 – TEAMING – RISE – Press Conference & Kick off Meeting

RISE (Research centre in Interactive media, Smart systems and Emerging technologies) a European research project sponsored by the European Commission (under action H2020-TEAMING) aims to create a research center of excellence in interactive media. Within the framework of the starting phase of the project a press conference will take place on Monday 22/6, 17:30 at Leventis Gallery – Nicosia (the kick off meeting will be held on 22 & 23 June, 2015)

The press conference is open to the public. Addresses from the Rectors of the three state universities, Nicosia’s Mayor and representatives of our distinguished partners involved in the proposal (Max Plank Institute for Informatics, Germany and University College of London) along with an informative presentation of the project will be addressed. A reception will follow the event.

18:45 – 19:30 Reception at «ΠΙΝΑΚΟΘΗΚΗ» Restaurant, A. G. Leventis Gallery

The research team of the Cyprus University of Technology is composed by the coordinators of the research laboratories of the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts as follows:
Microsoft Computer Games and Emerging Technologies Research Lab (GET Lab), coordinated by Despina Michael,
Visual Media Computing Lab (VMC) coordinated by Andreas Lanitis,
Cyprus Interaction Lab (CIL) coordinated by Panayiotis Zaphiris and Andri Ioannou.

GET Lab coordinator, Despina Michael is the deputy scientific coordinator of the RISE project and the principal investigator on behalf of the Cyprus University of Technology.
