On 27 March and 11 April, GET Lab [www.getlab.org], a research lab at the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts of the Cyprus University of Technology, received students from UCLan Cyprus’ School of Sciences and from the Linopetra Lyceum. The visits took place in the context of educational excursions organized by the aforementioned institutions.
Lyceum students were accompanied by their teachers, Giorgos Sazeides, Christina Georgiou, Elena Papamichael and Phanis Kentrotis, whereas lecturer Josephina Antoniou (UCLan) accompanied university students. The visits included a tour at the lab’s facilities. Dr Despina Michael, coordinator at GET Lab, elaborated on the scientific research conducted at the lab and the technological equipment at its disposal.
The tour was followed by a presentation/demonstration of research projects built at the lab by researchers and MSc students in the Computer Games and Interactive Technologies Inter-University Postgraduate Programme. Of note is the fact that all projects have been developed by researchers and postgraduate students at the lab, which gave guests the opportunity to interact both with young scientists and with achievements of advanced technology.
