The academic year 2020-2021 is a milestone for our GET Lab.
This year, the first three Ph.D. students of our lab have successfully completed their Ph.D. studies. Our first three graduates are:
- Panagiotis Charalampous, who successfully defended his PhD on the 11th of November 2020. His PhD work was on “Wave-Based Geometrical Acoustics for Accurate and Efficient Sound Rendering”.
- Christos Kyrlitsias, who successfully defended his PhD on the 10th of May 2021. Christos’ PhD work was on ” Social Conformity in Immersive Virtual Environments”.
- Maria Christofi, who successfully defended her PhD on the 18th of May 2021. Maria’s PhD work was on “Virtual Reality as a medium for attitude change”.
Additionally, this year our coordinator, Despina Michael-Grigoriou, was promoted to the tenured-track position of Associate Professor. The open to the public lecture given by Despina as part of her promotion took place on the 11th of January 2021. In this talk, she presented her work on “Virtual Reality for Physiological, Psychological and Social Well-Being”.
